Monika Stögerer

Mag. Dr. Monika Stögerer, BA MA is an External Lecturer at the Centre for Translation Studies in Vienna. In her PhD project, she investigated English-to-French simultaneous interpreting at the United Nations. She holds an MA in Conference Interpreting from the University of Vienna as well as a degree in Austrian Law (Mag. iur.) from the Johannes Kepler University of Linz where she specialised in European Law.

Her main research interests are interpreting in international organisations, legal interpreting and translation and international legislation on multilingualism and language rights. Apart from the University of Vienna, she worked at Ghent University, Belgium, promoted by CIUTI (Conférence Internationale Permanente d’Instituts Universitaires de Traducteurs et Interprètes), and has 10 years of experience working at international conferences at the United Nations in Vienna.
