Katia Iacono

Katia Iacono (ORCID, u:cris) is currently working as a postgraduate researcher and teaching assistant as well as a lecturer at the Centre for Translation Studies of the University of Vienna. She is also a lecturer at the Postgraduate Centre of the University of Vienna where she teaches professional ethics, interpreting process management and video and audio remote interpreting. Furthermore, she has been a freelance translator and interpreter since 2009 and her working languages are Italian, German, Spanish and English.

Her main research interests include dialogue interpreting, especially in medical settings, translation/interpreting management and interpreting/translation didactics. Her PhD thesis on interpreting in medical tourism in Austria and Germany with a special interest in the expectations and requirements faced by interpreters was published 2021 by Narr Francke Attempto.

Katia Iacono is also a committee member of the professional association UNIVERSITAS Austria and of the Viennese Commercial Chamber for the professional group of language service providers.
