Maria Bernadette Zwischenberger

Maria Bernadette Zwischenberger is a university assistant at the Centre for Translation Studies. She studied transcultural communication and dialogue interpreting in Vienna (University of Vienna) and Montréal (Université de Montréal). Maria joined the Centre for Translation Studies’ team in October 2020 working mainly on research topics pertaining to Community Interpreting. In her doctoral thesis under supervision of Prof. Sonja Pöllabauer she sets out to research the interrelations between translation policy, interpreting and social inequality.

Her research interests include sociological aspects of interpreting, research methods in interpreting studies and translation policy.
