Mag. Dr. Judith Platter (u:cris) is senior lecturer and researcher at the Centre for Translation Studies of the University of Vienna focusing on translation and accessibility. Furthermore, she teaches at the University of Graz and the Postgraduate Centre of the University of Vienna, where she is in charge of the first academic training course for speech-to-text interpreters in Austria. She has been a freelance translator and interpreter since 2003 and her working languages are German, Italian, English and French.
Her main research interests include interpreting/translation didactics, accessibility and translation (in particular speech-to-text interpreting), intermodality/intermediality in translation as well as professionalization, the latter being also examined in her PhD thesis.
Judith Platter is also founding member and current chair of the Austrian Speech-to-Text Interpreters’ Association OESDV.
